Total Control in Your Pocket: Mastering Our New Card Management Tools
Tags: Card Management, Digital Banking, Fraud Prevention
We’ve all had that sudden moment of panic. You reach into your pocket or purse at the grocery store checkout, only to realize your debit card isn’t there.
In the past, that meant a frantic call to the bank to cancel the card, followed by days of waiting for a new one to arrive in the mail. At First Lonestar Bank, we know your time is valuable and your peace of mind is even more so.
That is why we are thrilled to introduce our new Card Management features on our online banking platform. We’re putting the "remote control" for your finances directly in your hands, allowing you to protect your hard-earned money with just a few taps.
Manage Your Debit Card with Ease and Confidence
In a world that moves as fast as North Texas, you need tools that keep up with your lifestyle. Security isn't just about big vaults anymore; it’s about having the power to act the second you notice something is off.
These new features aren't just for emergencies. They are designed to help you manage your daily spending and keep your family’s budget on track without the headache of spreadsheets.
Our new tools give you the power to say 'no' to unauthorized spending before it even happens.
Lock Your Card Instantly
The most powerful feature in our new lineup is the Instant Lock and Unlock button. If you misplace your card at a Frisco RoughRiders game or leave it at a restaurant in downtown Dallas, you don't have to panic.
Simply log into the app and toggle your card to "Locked." This immediately prevents any new purchases or withdrawals from being made.
- Lost and Found: If you find your card under the seat of the truck ten minutes later, just toggle it back to "Unlocked" and go about your day.
- Travel Security: Many neighbors choose to lock their cards when they aren't actively traveling to ensure no "phantom" charges appear while they are home.
- Instant Peace of Mind: There is no need to wait on hold; you are in the driver's seat 24/7.
Spending Limits and Transaction Controls
Managing a household budget in Texas can be a tall order. Our new controls allow you to set specific boundaries for how and where your card is used.
You can set Spending Limits to ensure you stay within your monthly goals. This is an excellent way to make your money work harder by preventing too many "splurge" purchases that add up over time.
You can also restrict transactions based on the type of merchant. For example, you can allow charges at the gas pump but block "in-app" purchases for gaming or streaming services.
Real-Time Alerts to Keep You Safe
Waiting for your monthly statement to spot a mistake is a thing of the past. With our new system, you can set up Real-Time Alerts that ping your phone the moment your card is used.
The faster you see a charge, the faster we can help you fix a problem. You can customize these alerts to trigger for:
- High-Value Purchases: Get a notification for any charge over a dollar amount you choose.
- International Charges: Know immediately if your card info is being used overseas.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I access the new Card Management features?
To get started, log in to your online banking account and select Card Management from the main menu. All debit cards associated with your accessible accounts will be displayed there.
What is the difference between Temporarily Disable and Report Lost or Stolen?
"Temporarily Disable" turns your card off until you are ready to turn it back on, which is ideal if you have simply misplaced your card. "Report Lost or Stolen" permanently disables (hot-cards) the card; you will then need to contact the bank to have it replaced or reactivated.
How do I set up alerts for my debit card?
First, select Alerts or Card Controls and choose your delivery preference—SMS, email, or both. After entering your contact information and selecting Enroll Cards, you can customize your preferences to monitor all transactions or specific activity based on dollar amount, location, or merchant type.
Can I limit where my card is used?
Yes. Through Card Controls, you can set maximum transaction amounts or monthly spending limits. You can also select specific merchant categories (such as grocery stores or gas stations) and transaction types (such as eCommerce or ATMs) that you wish to allow.
I’m planning a trip. How do I notify the bank?
Select Travel Notification within the Card Management menu. You will need to provide your travel dates, destination (domestic or international), and a contact phone number. These notifications are typically processed by the end of the same business day.
How do I get a replacement card or a new PIN?
If your card is damaged, select Order Replacement to have a new card with an updated expiration date mailed to you automatically. If you need a new PIN, select Reorder PIN. Both items will be mailed to the address on file within 7–10 business days.
What should I do if the mailing address shown in the portal is incorrect?
If you notice your address is outdated while requesting a card or PIN, do not submit the request. Instead, please contact us at 877.433.8830 to update your information first.
